Merimbula jazz festival
29TH ANNUAL MERIMBULA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2009
Thanks to the generous on-going support of Chatswood RSL The Brazz Boyz and families travelled to the Merimbula Jazz Festival on the June long weekend. Chatswood RSL Club's funding assisted in paying for the costs of the coach to travel to and from the venues.
The band performed on three (3) occasions during the weekend. The Tuscany Apartments (Jazz on the Lawn) on Saturday afternoon was once again a huge success, and drew much acclaim from a large and enthusiastic audience.
The second festival performance was on Saturday Night 6th June in the much prized 10:00pm "feature" performance. It was a great honour for the band to be asked to appear in this timeslot and the response from the crowd was outstanding.
The third performance was on Sunday evening 7th June this time at the Merimbula RSL Auditorium at 6:20pm. Again the venue was packed and both event organisers and the general public were generous with thier praise for the band's work.
The weekend proved to be invaluable performance expirence for our blossoming group of young performers. We would like to thank all those who supported us on this trip, especially our ongoing sponsors, Chatswood RSL.
